Kenneth G. Hartman of Springfield, VA, died peacefully at home on February 7, 2024. He and his wife Ruth moved to Ravensworth Farm as original owners in 1964.
Ken grew up in Lynn, MA, and graduated from Lynn Classical High School. After graduation, he attended the US Merchant Marine Academy, earning a BS in Marine Engineering and Naval Architecture. Ken served in the US Navy as a Chief Engineer before starting his civilian career. After retirement, he became a consultant to JJH, Inc.; Booz-Allen and Hamilton, Inc.; and TMA Corporation. Ken was a Registered Professional Engineer, and a member of ASNE, SNAME, and the Association of Scientists and Engineers.
Ken participated in many Ravensworth Farm Civic Association committees and events. Ken had served as the Treasurer and was known as a man of integrity. He was always ready to lend a helping hand or share advice.
Ken was also an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Annandale, where he served as an Elder and a member of the Administration and Finance Committee. He also volunteered on several committees over his long membership at the church.
Ken was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, whose sense of humor brought joy to every family gathering. His intelligence not only showed in his work but also in the wisdom he imparted to his loved ones.
Ken is survived by his loving wife, Ruth, and by his brother Donald, daughters Cynthia R. Boyle (Phillip) and Jane M. Beaulieu (Thomas), granddaughters Amanda R. Boyle DeMilner (Maxwell), Jennifer M. Boyle, and Jessica M. Goss (David), as well as great-grandchildren Teagan, Sylvia, and David Goss, Reginald DeMilner, Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.
