Green Thumb Garden Club

We had 14 ladies attend our November 1 general meeting at Tess Warmka’s home with lots of yummy treats, and good conversation.

At our meeting we discussed some of our upcoming service projects including the buying and filling of Christmas/Holiday stockings for those children at the Juvenile Detention Center, and the creation of Thanksgiving arrangements with the folks at the Lincolnia Senior Center as part of a Flower Therapy program some of our members participate in. Our next meeting will be our Christmas/Holiday Tea at Ursula’s home in early December where we will exchange simple “gardening” gifts and collect donations for Children’s Hospital.

Six Garden Club members attended a Kokedama workshop at Botanologica in Falls Church after the meeting. These included Eleanor, Tess, and Margaret. We each created a moss ball to surround the special dirt we mixed in which to plant our chosen plant. We really had a fabulous time creating and learning about this new technique.

New members are welcome to join the Club at any time. Please call Membership Chairperson Agnes Hite at 703-321-4808 for information.
